KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Thursday visited Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Complex (JPMC) and inquired about the health of the patients who suffered by heat stroke during recent wave of scorching summer.
Director Emergency JPMC Seemi Jamali accompanied the JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman.
During the visit, Seemi Jamali briefed Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman about the condition of the patients admitted in the hospital by suffering heat-stroke.
On the occasion, Hafiz Naeem distributed water coolers among the patients and assured full party support to them.
Hafiz Naeem also visited the Heat-Stroke Camp setup by Al-Khidmat outside the JPMC and appreciated the volunteers of Al-Khidmat for providing their services to the ailing humanity during scorching summer.
JI Naib Ameer Karachi Dr Osama Razi, Secretary Al-Khidmat Karachi Engr Abdul Aziz, Manzar Alam, Younus Barai, Zahid Askari and others were also present on the occasion.
Talking to media, Hafiz Naeem said that the federal, provincial governments and K-Electric are equally responsible for the death of innocent persons due to heat stroke adding the coalition partners PPP and MQM in the previous government have destroyed the infrastructure of Karachi.
He regretted that the governments has not yet paid any attention towards handling any disaster or emergency adding that there is an absence of basic tools use in treating any emergency.
He further informed that the Jamaat-e-Islami is going to observe “Black Day” today (Friday) against the K-Electric and warned the federal government to cancel the privatization agreement of K-Electric and not to renew it otherwise the people of Karachi will also stage protest demonstration against the government.
Hafiz Naeem further said that the management of K-Electric has completely failed to produce even a single unit during the last 10years, although collecting billion of rupees by the innocent masses in terms of over-billing. He further informed that the Jamaat-e-Islami leadership is consulting with the legal team in order to register case against K-Electric. Hafiz Naeem further said that the JI and Al-Khidmat volunteers were busy in facilitating the patients suffered by heat-stroke and will continue its efforts for providing relief to the masses.
