The management of Lahore Qalandars on Monday confirmed that team captain Mohammad Hafeez has been ruled out for the remainder of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Hafeez was injured during Qalandars’ game against Karachi Kings on Saturday.
“Tests revealed that his thumb was fractured and he needs surgery. Subsequently, he will be out of action for 4 to 6 weeks. Hafeez is being released from the Qalandars squad and a replacement will be sought to cover his place,” said the statement by Lahore Qalandars.
Team manager and franchise COO Sameen Rana expressed disappointment at the development.
“This is extremely disappointing for us that Hafeez has been injured and won’t be available to Qalandars for the tournament. We wish him a quick recovery and back in action soon,” Rana said.
