ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal Wednesday said the launch of Gwadar Seaport and Gwadar mega city projects had drawn the attention of foreign investors to Balochistan.
Talking to Balochisan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai here, he said the projects being completed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would usher in a new era of development and prosperity in the province.
Discussing the development projects including promotion of education and social sector, he said the Prime Minister was personally monitoring development and infrastructure projects for the well-being of the people of Balochistan.
The minister said the federal government was setting up universities for the promotion of education in remote areas of the province.
The Baloch youth would focus towards higher education after establishment of universities in Zhob, Turbat and Gwadar, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said vocational institutes would also be set up to impart technical training to the youth in a bid to overcome unemployment.
He said the CPEC framework would provide development opportunities to under-developed areas of the province.
