RAWALPINDI: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in its recent press release said that Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) accepted challenge bravely despite many difficulties to link Gwadar Port with whole country via road network while construction work is steadily continued as a prominent part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.
Construction of road network to connect Gwadar Port with whole country has continued with full pace over special directives of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, ISPR said on Wednesday.
The road project is a part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), ISPR added. Eleven units of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) are working efficiently to reach ontime completion of the project that planned to fabricate 850 kilometres long road network from Gwadar Port to other parts of the country.
It was stated that 502 kilometres long roads have been completely constructed in 1.5 years with many sacrifices including lives of six soldiers and other 16 persons while 136 people were injured in different incidents during the development work.
At least 29 people were injured during 136 incident relating to security issues on the project while major security issues include weather and difficult mountainous areas but FWO officials are managing to keep steady pace to construct 1.5 kilometres long road daily that is matching the international standards.
ISPR said that FWO is completely aware about prominence of the project and fully aimed ontime completion of road linkage of Gwadar Port with the other parts of Pakistan.
