ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah while confirming that a deadlock is still persisting on the terms of reference (TORs) of Panama leaks probe on Monday said that the government wants opposition parties to take to streets.
The opposition leader today regretted that the government has not been demonstrating flexibility on the issue and urged it not to force opposition parties to take to streets.
“We still have taking to streets as the last option,” he warned, adding that the government always thinks of resolving issues when it already quite late.
Criticizing the government over Budget 2016-17, Shah said it did not elaborate its priorities, while sufficient allocation was not made in the budget for key sectors including education.
On the other hand, Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal said the issue of drafting TORs is not just limited to offshore firms, it involves political point scoring.
He said the ones doing negative politics will lose their remaining voters. The minister said if the government completes next two years, then the opponents will even be deprived of their security bonds in the next general elections.
