Govt to honor mandate of AJK masses: Pervaiz Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid says that the government of Pakistan will honor mandate of the people of Azad Kashmir.

Talking to media in Islamabad this evening, he said Kashmiris exercised their votes freely and independently to elect their representatives, which is a good omen for democracy.

Responding to a question, the Minister said Imran Khan dreamed of toppling the government in past, but ended his sit-in with his own marriage.

Pervaiz Rashid said the entire nation was observing Black Day against Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir, but Imran Khan remained aloof to this cause and kept busy in announcing an anti government movement.

He said it is callousness of Imran Khan that he always announced protest movement in August, when the entire nation celebrates its independence.

Answering another question, the minister said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has very effectively raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at world fora, including the United Nations Security Council.

To a question, he said Nawaz Sharif has returned to Islamabad and is effectively fulfilling his responsibilities.

Pervaiz Rashid said Karachi operation was started with the consensus of all the political forces and the government will continue this spirit to maintain law and order in the city.
