ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Prof. Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday said government was making efforts to ensure political stability in the country.
He said that it is very important for saving major foreign investment in the history of Pakistan.
Talking to APP here after attending the Interactive Discussion on Higher Education Commission (HEC) Vision 2025, he said that country cannot afford instability as it causing loss billion dollars.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been isolated in its protest as the other parties have been distanced from it.
He requested PTI to come back to parliament as it was the only forum to resolve the issues.
Supreme Court has taken notice on the current political situation, he said and added, there was now no justification to come on the roads.
PTI, he said, had been protesting since last three years but government did not stop them but now its call for the lock down of the capital was against the benefit of the country.
The masses have reject PTI in the general and by elections in last three years adding that now they should wait for one and half years, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said that if the government was not working well, it will be rejected in the next general elections.
The corruption case, minister said, was under hearing in the court so PTI has to wait for the decision rather than blaming the top institution of the country.
He hoped that Imran Khan will not hostage in the hands of the Shaikh Rashid.
