Two high-value TTP commanders arrested

ISLAMABAD: The government and the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP ) have reportedly reached a ceasefire accord.

This has been disclosed by Turkey’s state-run TRT World journalist Hasan Abdulllah.

The Pakistan-based journalist wrote on his twitter account on Thursday: “The ceasefire accord is for one month initially.”

He further said that the agreement between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is effective from Nov 1.

Hasan Abdullah added that the ceasefire agreement is extendable based on mutual agreement. Both the sides have agreed on a five-member committee.

He further said that Afghan Taliban are mediating between the TTP and the government.

The government and TTP had started the talks on Oct 25, he said.
