ISLAMABAD: The Government is taking a number of steps to improve the service delivery of the public sector in the country.
According to Radio Pakistan, E-governance is being introduced to ensure the efficiency and transparency in public sector services.
It has been planned to provide IT experts to each Ministry to implement e-governance initiatives. These initiatives include the Governance Portal, Governance Innovation App Store and Free Internet for all.
To build the capacity of Government officials, the officers will be trained at global centres of Excellence and the visits of top trainers to Pakistan will also be organized. Innovation and knowledge exchange visits have been initiated to learn the best civil service practices and learn about the reforms process experiences from other countries including Malaysia, Mexico, South America and Europe.
The sources said a comprehensive Digital government Strategy is being implemented to ensure the efficiency, improved access, transparency and accountability of public service provision. Innovative initiatives are being encouraged at individual and institutional levels through an incentive structure.
Steps under Civil Service Reforms also include launching of the Institutional Effectiveness Index to objectively assess the performance of public service.
