Govt should form JC over APS, BKU attack: Khursheed Shah

Opposition leader Khursheed Shah said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif’s statement increased prestige of Pakistan Army.

Talking to media Khursheed Shah said Raheel Sharif’s decision at this stage is the admirable. His decision has increased prestige of Pakistan Army.

Commenting on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, he said Nisar has left the parliament. He quoted the Interior Minister saying he (Nisar) didn’t have anything to do with Nacta.

On the other hand, the Opposition leader lashed out at federal government for failing to implement National Action Plan in letter and spirit.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should seek apology from the nation for NAP’s failure.

Shah said the premier had himself confessed his government could not implement NAP in letter and spirit.

Shah cited that out of 3,000 cases only 60 had been referred to the military courts so far. He questioned the government to provide details of the cases not sent to military courts for trial.

The opposition leader said that the government’s non-serious attitude towards terrorism is evident from the fact that Nacta is yet to be made functional and its website updated.

He urged the prime minister to take steps to contain terrorism and militancy in the country unless it is too late.

Khursheed Shah demanded the government to form a judicial commission on Army Public School and Bacha Khan University attack.
