ISLAMABAD: The federal government will utilise the £190 million amount obtained from the settlement between the UK government and the Malik Riaz’s family for social welfare projects in the country.
This has been clarified by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar in his twitter post on Friday.
He said that under the settlement agreement, proceed from the Hyde Park will be transferred to the Pakistan government. The amount will be transferred into Supreme Court of Pakistan’s account in the National Bank of Pakistan.
The SC has been requested, in writing, by the federal government to release the said money in its account, he said.
