KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chief Engr Hafiz NaeemurRehman has said that Alkhidmat was striving to serve masses in all spheres of life, particularly, health and education that were mainly the responsibility of the government.
The JI leader expressed these views while inaugurating the extended medical facility of Alkhidmat at North Karachi areas.

The facility has been extended from a sample collection unit to a full-fledged medical center, offering lab tests, consultant clinic, and pharmacy services.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Central Mohammad Wassemuddin, Alkhidmat Karachi Chief Executive Officer Naveed Ali Baig, Alkhidmat Medical Services Director Dr Saqib Ansari and others also addressed the graceful ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Naeem ur Rehman further said that basically the government was responsible for provision of all civic facilities including medical, educational and transport services to masses and in the prevailing situation the most significant service to the society was to support the struggle for compelling the ruling regime for delivery of services.
He added that in the past Alkhidmat had served the city and the citizens during the Covid pandemic and other natural disasters without compromising their self-esteem and ego. The NGO will continue to serve as it was the first one to respond to the recent outbreak of skin disease in cattle. Alkhidmat has already launched a fumigation campaign in cattle colonies of the city, he added.
On the occasion, he thanked the medical, paramedical staffers and volunteers at the facility for their dedication and hard works that transformed a small scale facility into a full medical center.
Further talking about the NGO, the JI leader revealed that currently Alkhidmat was running five major hospitals, seven big medical centers apart from a large number of water filtration plants.
He added that Alkhidmat was also running 20 orphanages entitled Agosh, centers across Pakistan. It facilitates 18000 orphan children and rungs the largest network of volunteers in the country, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC hailed the role of Alkhidmat for serving Karachi and Karachiites particularly in the field of health and welfare activities. He said that with the extended medical facilities, the center would be facilitating the areas residents with enhanced scope.
