ISLAMABAD: Federal government has rejected proposals to privatise the Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday refused proposals for privatisation of the Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project. The proposals were presented to meet the financing gap as the project cost exceeded by 52 percent.
274 billion rupees were approved for the Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project but its cost risen to 418 billion rupees.
A revised PC-1 finalised with fresh cost estimates is awaiting clearance by the Central Development Working Party and the Executive Committee of National Economic Council.
