SWAT: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said the process of compensation to the bereaved families of those killed in recent earthquake has been completed.
‘I visited the quake-affected areas soon after the calamity and will be visiting more areas in the days to come,’ he said while addressing the quake victims in Barikot, Swat.
He said the federal government in consultation with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government worked out the compensation package for the victims soon after the calamity hit different parts.
The Prime Minister said the deadline for payment of compensation to those whose houses were damaged has been set 24th of this month. He said every possible assistance to be provided to the affectees.
He appreciated the DCO Swat for deciding to complete the process by Tuesday.
PM Nawaz Sharif also distributed cheques among earthquake victims.
