LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said, the government is paying full attention to protect the interest of cultivators and is aware of the problems being faced by the agriculture sector.
Addressing a meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat here on Friday, in which a briefing was given regarding agricultural conference which will be held tomorrow (Saturday), he said the conference will help in seeking proposals for resolving the issues being confronted by the agriculture sector and farmers.
He said final shape would be given through solid and meaningful steps at the conference in consultation with the cultivators and experts and other stakeholders.
The chief minister said all possible measures would be taken for saving farmers and cultivators from problems created due to international slump in agri sector.
He said the future of Pakistan’s economy depended on agriculture and all out resources would be made available for the promotion and stability of the agriculture sector.
He said the Punjab government had taken various measures for welfare and betterment of rural population.
