Govt launches new projects to boost GDP growth

ISLAMABAD: Federal government has decided to include 211 new development projects in the current fiscal year to achieve the targeted Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

Sources in the Ministry of Planning and Development told Radio Pakistan that 241 billion rupees have been allocated for these projects against the estimated cost of 1675 billion rupees.

In addition 3.4 billion rupees have been allocated for twenty-six new projects for the development and promotion of agriculture sector.

These include Cluster development based agriculture transformation plan, Milk and meat supply chain improvement and support to livestock production, construction of small dams and Makhi Farash link canal project for water supply to Thar Coal.
