Govt firms to remove all reservation on CPEC route

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Thursday (today)said political system of the country has been matured adding that all reservation on China Pakistan Economic Corridor will be removed.

The premier was addressing the meeting of parliamentary leaders in Islamabad and he said the political leaders reserve the right to express their reservations and he assured them all that all reservation will be removed.

The PM Nawaz stressed the political leadership of the country to adopt a consensus stance on China Pakistan Economic Corridor project for the benefit of the country.

The PM said that we should move forward on national matters with one voice and united stance. He said, will also send a good message to China that the entire Pakistani nation is committed for the economic corridor project.

Nawaz Sharif said this mega project will be proved to be a milestone for Pakistan. He said the investment pouring in from China is unprecedented in the history of Pakistan and credit for this goes to all the political parties.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister appreciated the law enforcement agencies and the Sindh government for nabbing the culprits of terrorist attack on Ismail community in Karachi. He said the culprits should be given exemplary punishment and it will be seen as to who is behind these elements.

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal is briefing the parliamentary leaders about the different routes of Pakistan China economic corridor project.

Briefing the meeting, the Minister for Planning and Development said Pakistan China economic corridor project will benefit all the provinces. He said Gwadar will be connected with Kasghar with three different routes.

He said the project is not mere the name of a road but it envisages establishment of industrial zones and power projects. Most of the power projects under the corridor will be established in Sindh. He said this project will attract more tourists to Gilgit Baltistan.
