Govt believes in empowerment, protection and emancipation of women: PM Nawaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the women are the most essential part of our society and the government believes in their empowerment, protection and emancipation.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed these views while talking to Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Ms. Sehrish Qamar who called on him at PM House here on Friday.

The Prime Minister congratulated Ms. Sehrish Qamar on being elected as member of AJ&K Legislative Assembly and expressed hope that she would leave no stone unturned for emancipation of women.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Sehrish Qamar said that the AJ&K government is determined to realize the vision of Premier for progress and prosperity of the people of the state. She said that women in AJ&K have been facing a number of problems for quite a long time and vowed for educating them besides provision of other necessary facilities so that they can contribute in the progress and development of AJ&K in a significant manner.

PM Nawaz expressed the confidence that the newly elected MLAs under the leadership of Raja Farooq Haider will work tirelessly for the progress and prosperity of the people of AJ&K. It is our collective responsibility to serve the people who have overwhelmingly shown their trust in our manifesto during the recent elections, the PM stated.

He further said, “We will extend all out support to the AJ&K government to pursue our socio-economic and infrastructure development agenda, the development projects and welfare schemes to be carried out in AJ&K will be of same standards like other parts of the country.” —INP
