KARACHI: Fearing the loss of human lives, the provincial government imposed a ban on swimming at Karachi Sea View beach under Section-144.
The decision was taken by Home Ministry Sindh saying noting that a large number of people especially youngsters gather at different beaches in Karachi particularly Sea View for recreation on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr.
“A large number of visitors also swim or go close to high tides,” the letter read expressing apprehension of loss of lives and requesting the provincial government to impose a ban on swimming in the sea on the Muslim festival.
All concerned station house officers (SHOs) were directed to take due action and lodge an FIR against those violating the orders.
