Govt allocates Rs41b for upgration of Railways Network

ISLAMABAD: The Government has allocated forty-one billion rupees for rehabilitation and upgradation of railways network across the country.

 According to the current Annual Development Plan, special initiatives have been taken for improvement of signalling system, procurement of new rolling stock and locomotives and uninterrupted coal supply from Karachi  to various coal fired power plants across the country, Radio Pakistan reported.

The plan envisages upgradation of main line from Karachi to Peshawar, development of dry port at Havelian and doubling of existing track from Port Qasim to Bin Qasim station under the aegis of CPEC flagship project.
