KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has objected to the Sindh Local Government Amendment Act.
According to sources, the Sindh governor has sent back a draft of the Sindh Local Government Amendment Act.

The governor had objected that the mayor is elected by a show of hand, however, under the new municipal amendment act the election would be made through a secret poll. The secret polling will increase horse trading. In addition, under the new system, the mayor can be elected without contesting any election, he added.
Ismail said that the hospitals that were with the KMC had also been taken back while the so-called tax system had also been taken from the municipality of Karachi.
