PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has appealed to countrymen to maintain an atmosphere of tolerance, patience, brotherhood and respect amongst their ranks at all level.
In a message on eve of Ashura Moharram issued here on Monday, the Government said “Today is Aushura e Muharram-ul-Haram. This sagacious and sacred occasion of the Islamic history is observed in memory of the supreme sacrifice offered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and his companions while standing up for righteousness and truthfulness.
From the annals of history, one finds comprehensive message with far reaching effects for Muslims, when faced with forces of tyranny and cruelties as far as their spirit and enthusiasm are concerned.”
The Governor said, “The way, the martyrs of Karbala demonstrated the spirit of courage; steadfastness; tolerance and patience and above all devotion to the cause, offers a comprehensive message to every faithful.
It depicts a rare precedence of steadfastness against the forces of cruelties on the one hand while on the other conveys a message of commitment to remain adamant in line with their faith of maintaining supremacy of righteousness.”
“On this auspicious occasion, I would like to appeal the countrymen in general and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular to maintain an atmosphere of tolerance, patience, brotherhood and respect amongst their ranks at all levels.
The sanctity of the day also reminds us to maintain unity, spirit of fraternity and brotherhood. Keeping in view the difficult circumstances, we have gone through over the recent past, there is dire need to be alive to the circumstances around; contribute to develop an environment of trust and faithfulness; spirit of brotherhood, tolerance and patience,” the Governor said.
He said be passionate when faced with untoward situations and be steadfast, when things take, the unavoidable turn and this may also be a best way to pay tributes to the martyrs of Aushora-e-Muharram.
