ISLAMABAD: The Federal government on Thursday assured all the provinces of increased allocations for central funded projects.
Sources in the Planning Commission told Dawn that the assurance was given to the provincial leaders by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has given the assurance to the provinces under the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to accommodate provincial requirements.
Planning commission officials said that it was a win-win arrangement for both the Centre and the provinces. He said that provinces were demanding to increase in federal allocations based on population.
While talking to media Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the federal government had not allocated funds for vertical projects of health and education sectors for Sindh.
