ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq said it is good to see military and the nation are on the same page against corruption.

Addressing to Senate session while discussing matter of Panama documents, the JI Ameer said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and common man are on same page against the corruption.

Declaring corruption more dangerous than ‘Nuclear Bomb’, JI’s Senator said if government made its priority to eliminate corruption than terrorism would get eliminated itself.

Siarjul Haq said current debt of Pakistan stood at $72 billion while approximately $375 billion wealth was present in different banks of foreign countries.

JI Ameer demanded to the government to take back pre-bargaining power from National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

He further said political parties should expel corruption elements from its rows.

He demanded to form an independent commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to bring back wealth of the country present in different banks of foreign countries.

Ratio of poverty, inflation and unemployment is consistently increasing following corruption, bribery and moves denting merit in the country, JI Ameer said.

If wealth present in foreign banks bought back that would change the future of the country as it can once again emerge as a well developed nation, he added.
