ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday reassured that costs related to the imported RLNG (Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas), would be ring fenced as per Federal government decision and indigenous gas consumers shall not be burdened.
Taking cognizance of reports and news spreading fear among the local gas consumers about burdening of RLNG costs, the Authority has reiterated that only the consumers of imported gas would bear the costs related to its infrastructure, OGRA spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, the consumers of locally produced gas that mainly includes domestic consumers are duly protected through ring fencing as per decision of the Federal Government.
The spokesman termed news that had claimed the burdening of local gas consumers as misreporting by a section of press and said that such ill-informed reporting unnecessarily misleads the consumers.
