GALLE: Young Kaushal Silva led Sri Lanka to survive 2nd day just losing three wickets against Pakistan in difficult batting conditions.

After first day abandon due to rain the 2nd day also started with a delay due to the same reason.

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to field first. Only 16 overs were bowled in 1st session as the Green Shirts managed to pick up the only wicket courtesy of Wahab Riaz.

In 2nd and third session of the game the Lankan batsmen dominated as they managed to score 178 at stumps in 64 overs.

The only lost three wickets in shape of Dimuth Karunaratne (21), Lahiru Thirimanne (8) and Kumar Sanagakkar (50).

Kaushal Silva still unbeaten on 80 along with skipper Angelo Mathews who scored 10 runs.

Wahab Riaz picked up two wickets while Mohammad Hafeez picked up a single wicket.
