LAHORE: Funeral prayers in absentia held for Motiur Rahman Nizami in all major cities of the country.
Motiur Rahman Nizami’s funeral prayers in absentia offered in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Gujranwala and other cities on Wednesday.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq offered the funeral prayer of Motiur Rahman Nizami in Lahore. While addressing to the participants, he paid rich tribute to the executed JI leader and said, Motiur Rahman Nizami is the name of an ideology, theory and thought.
Haq said Bangladesh Prime Minister Hasina Wajid launched the cases against Motiur Rahman Nizami over Indian pressure. He said the only sin of Nizami was that he supported united Pakistan in 1971. The JI leader said Pakistani ambassador to Bangladesh should have participated in the funeral prayer of Motiur Rahman Nizami. Haq said the government did not play its due role in the current executions to the people loyal to Pakistan.
