NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India on Friday directed the government authorities to review all the restrictions it had imposed in the occupied Kashmir within a week time.
The top court issued this order while hearing the petitions that challenged the Indian government’s restrictions imposed on movement and communication in the valley.
The court ruled that freedom of using internet was a fundamental right.
Last year on Aug 5, India had abrogated Article 370 withdrawing special status given to occupied Kashmir.
The government had imposed the military curfew and communication blackout in the occupied Kashmir.
