LAHORE: Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan on Friday said strict action would be taken if complaints were received in the second phase of local bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab.
‘Free and fair elections should be ensured. Police and civil administration should remain apolitical during elections,’ he said while addressing a meeting in Lahore regarding the LB polls.
Khan said no negligence would be tolerated during the second phase. ECP would fulfill its responsibility of completing the elections without any fear.
He said the governments come and go, while institutes remain and we needed to strengthen institutes. He said the performance of civil administration and police was laudable during the first phase of LB elections.
