ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Ali Zardari left for Dubai late last night after almost 5 years.

According to sources, Asif Ali Zardari left for Dubai on a private plane last night.

Sources say that Asif Ali Zardari left Islamabad for Dubai.

A few days ago, a meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had approved the removal of more than 200 names from the ECL, including the name of Asif Ali Zardari.

It may be recalled that in December 2018, the federal cabinet had included the names of 172 people, including former president Asif Ali Zardari, in the ECL.

Last week, former president Asif Ali Zardari has called on PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his residence.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema were also present on the occasion of the meeting between Asif Ali Zardari and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

According to the statement, the current political situation was discussed in the meeting while the former president thanked the PML-Q president for his support in the current political situation.

It was agreed in the meeting that there was a need to promote understanding, respect and tolerance in politics. What happened in the Punjab Assembly could have been avoided.

According to the statement, Asif Ali Zardari and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain decided to continue political consultations in the future as well.

It may be recalled that Tariq Bashir Cheema and Chaudhry Salik of PML-Q had voted in favour of no-confidence motion against Imran Khan.
