ISLAMABAD: Former Indian PM Manmohan Singh will attend the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor as a ‘yatri’ and not the chief guest on Nov 9, the foreign minister said here.

Speaking to the media, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that PM Imran would open the Kartarpur Corridor next month while India would inaugurate its side on Nov 8.

Initially New Delhi was reluctant to open the corridor but later on pressure from its Punjab province it decided to go ahead with the opening, Qureshi added.

About 5,000 Sikh yatrees would visit their religious places in Pakistan through the Kartarpur Corridor, the foreign minister said.
