HYDERABAD: Heavy fog which hit Hyderabad and other districts of the division caused five hours long power breakdown in the region of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company on Monday.

The power supply went off around 4.30 a.m. early Monday morning as a result of heavy fog and later restored gradually from 10 a.m onward. The power breakdown was the result of faults in HESCO transmission lines as a result of fog, informed HESCO officials.

Meanwhile, the local Met office recorded 91 percent relative humidity (RH) with 19 degree Celsius temperature which also caused interruption in smooth traffic flow on roads of the districts of Hyderabad division. As a result of heavy fog, the visibility went very low which forced the drivers to drive their vehicles at slow speed.
