ISLAMABAD: To cope with the wheat shortage across the country, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has accorded an approval to import 300,000 million tonnes of the crop here on Monday.
The planned import of the wheat will be without regulatory duty.
The decision to import 0.3 million tonnes of wheat was taken in a meeting chaired by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.
The first shipment of the wheat will arrive by Feb 15 and the process will complete till March 31.
