DI KHAN: Five Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced rebellion against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak, stating that the CM is a hurdle towards change.

Addressing a press conference, MNAs Dawar Kundi, Amirullah Marwat, Sajid Nawaz, Khayal Zaman Afridi and Junaid Akbar said that KP is heading towards devastation because of Khattak. They announced rebellion against him, stating that they shall keep striving until the CM gets replaced.

The MNAs levelled accusations of corruption upon the provincial government and various ministers during their press conference. Certain members of Jamaat Islami (JI) along with the local representatives of Awami National Party (ANP) and members of PTI’s forward block were also present during the press conference.

The PTI MNAs were of the view that the CM is sidelining Imran Khan through a well-planned scheme, adding that the provincial ministers are equally involved in corruption. They stated that the local elections were held a year ago but the transfer of authority at the lower level has yet not been made possible as the corrupt-lot is a hurdle in the whole procedure.

Corruption is at its peak in the departments of Water management, Revenue and Education, said the MNAs, further stating that the Opposition in the province has failed to play its role in the province as the CM makes everyone his ally.

The public representatives accused that the funds of the entire province are being spent on three districts, including Naushera, Mardan and Swabi. They were of the view that change can only be possible by changing the system whereas CM Khattak has proven to be a traditional politician.

They stated that three years have passed but the condition of the province has not changed which forced them to take action.
