RAIPUR, India: An Indian border force personnel shot dead his five colleagues before committing suicide here on Wednesday.

In Chhattisgarh, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (IPBP) personnel Constable Musudul Rehman gunned down his five comrades. Later, he ended his life, an official statement says.

India’s Chhattisgarh, a mineral-rich region,  is a restive central state that has long been wracked by a left-wing insurgency.

Indian forces have been engaged in crushing the Maoist rebels, who have been fighting for greater rights for decades.
