Fire engulfed a medicine manufacturing factory in Hawksbay, a garment factory in the SITE area and in rice warehouse at Sher Shah on Friday in Karachi.
According to the fire brigade officials, eight fire tenders and rescue workers were dispatched to the SITE area, keeping in view the intensity of the fire.
During the continuous struggle against fire, the fire brigade vehicles ran out of water.
The officials said, gas pipeline leakages were the reason behind recurrent fires.
At least four workers who fainted due to heavy plumes of smoke were rushed to a nearby medical facility.
However, there were no immediate reports of casualties.
A large quantity of medicines perished in the factory fire in Karachi’s Hawksbay area.
Everything including medicines stored in the warehouse turned to ashes in the fire, although no casualties were reported.
According to the factory owners, a short circuit in the factory caused the blaze.
On the other hand the fire tenders are also busy in extinguishing the fire at rice warehouse.
