LONDON: Australian star batsman Aaron Finch has been rushed to hospital after been hit on the chest by a delivery while playing for Yorkshire’s 2nd XI on Monday.
According to reports, Finch was playing a limited overs game gainst Worcestershire seconds in Barnt Green, south of Birmingham.
Finch misjudged a chest high bounce bowled by Chris Russell which hit him on his chest. He walked off from the pitch in pain and after spitting up blood, was quickly taken to hospital.
At hospital he underwent a series of tests and X-rays to ascertain the extent of the injuries, with Yorkshire suggesting that his condition had eased considerably. He was not required to stay in hospital.
A club spokesperson later told ESPNcricinfo that he would take no further part in the game. He returned to Leeds on Monday evening and expects the result of the scans on Tuesday.
