Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on Sunday morning amid tight security arrangements.

He landed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore early morning. A gathering of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers reached the airport in advance to welcome Shehbaz back to the country.

Upon his arrival, supporters chanted slogans and showered rose petals on him.

On April 10, Shehbaz departed for a “quick trip” to London after his name was removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) on the orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC).

On April 4, the federal government had removed Shehbaz from the no-fly list. The opposition leader is accused of money laundering and possessing assets beyond known means of income in several cases.
