Federal govt allocates special funds for uplift of FATA: MNA

BAJAUR: Member National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbuddin Khan has said the federal government was committed to providing basic and modern facilities to the people of far-flung and militancy hit areas.

He was speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of two Road project in Salarzai tehsil which had been damaged by militancy and war on terror here on Wednesday.

The MNA said that the federal government was devoted for provision of basic facilities to the people of backward and militancy affected areas of FATA and for this purpose special amounts had been allocated in the current fiscal year.

He said the federal government was aware of the problems and difficulties faced to the people of militancy hit areas owing to lack of basic needs and facilities.

The MNA told the participants that several rehabilitation schemes in different militancy hit areas would be started soon in order to provide basic and modern civic facilities to the people of the agency.

He said that reconstruction of the damaged and destroyed infrastructure in Fata was the most top priority of the federal government and all out efforts are being taken for the purpose.

The MNA said that for the first time in the history of Agency, all the development schemes and projects under the Annual development program are purely community oriented and only needy people would get benefit from the schemes.

Tribal elders, members of peace committees, party works and senior officials of the highways department and local administration were present on the occasion.

The officials of high ways’ department briefed the MNA about the cast and duration of both the projects.

According to the officials the 8- Kilometre  Pashat – Chao gatt road scheme would be completed by October 2016 at cost of Rs 110 million while 2- km   Pashat to Gambat Road project  is expected to  be completed by the end of November this year at cast of Rs 50 million.

Officials on the occasion said that improvement of Road infrastructure was necessary for socio-economic development of the agency as maximum number of Roads in various areas had been affected by militancy.
