ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday advised Afghan Taliban to come to dialogue table, saying that it would have been better had Gulbuddin Hekmatyar taken Taliban into confidence before striking a peace deal with the Afghan government .

Talking to media at Parliament’s House, Fazl said that it would be appropriate to see the results of Afghan government’s peace deal with Hizb-e-Islami before commenting over it.

The JUI-F chief hailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for what he said raising Kashmir issue at United Nation General Assembly boldly.

He said that despite India’s warmongering, Prime Minister’s speech and Pakistan’s reaction were responsible.

He questioned as to why those self-proclaimed champions of human rights were mum over Indian forces’ atrocities in Kashmir against innocent and unarmed Kashmiris.

He said that the government had not made any tangible progress on Kashmir Policy proposed by the National Assembly’s Special Committee on Kashmir.

He said that a meeting of Kashmir Committee with the delegates going to different countries to highlight Kashmir’s issue was scheduled for September 27.

He warned the government against taking action against religious seminaries. —INP
