Families of stranded Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia get cheques

ISLAMABAD: Families of stranded Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia on Sunday got cheques from the government as a financial assistance for their families.

According to details, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved Rs 50,000 for each family of a bread earner, who has been trapped in Saudi Arabia after which, PM Secretariat staffers and overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development ministries have distributed cheques among the families.

The affected people have thanked the government for their assistance and requested to prepare strategy for their return.

Moreover, Saudi authorities have also directed the companies to pay the salaries of the employees so that they can fly back to their country. Pakistani workers have been trapped in Dammam for more than two months after their iqamas expired.
