ISLAMABAD: PTI leader and former senator Faisal Vawda has challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision disqualifying him lifetime in the Supreme Court.
In his petition, the PTI leader had prayed the apex court to declare the ECP and IHC’s decision null and void. Vawda made the ECP and various complainants party in the plea.

The PTI leader adopted in the plea that the ECP had no authority to disqualify for a lifetime. The Election Commission of Pakistan is not an authorized court of law, he added. The Islamabad Hugh Court had dismissed the plea in haste, Vawda said.
The petition prayed the apex court to declare the ECP’s decision null and void and restore the petitioner as a senator.
