The Europe’s largest mosque – Eyup Sultan Complex- is being built in France’s Strasbourg city.

About 5000 faithful can offer prayers in the Europe’s largest mosque once it is completed.

The mayor of Strasbourg, Sebahattin Aydemir, told a media house that Eyup Sultan Complex is three kilometers from the European Parliament, the Human Rights Court and the Council of Europe, and two kilometers from the largest cathedral in Europe.

“The Eyup Sultan Complex will be the largest mosque in Europe and the Balkans, we expect the help of our citizens,” Aydemir told Turkish media house at the construction site.

He said that the complex is being built on 14.5 acres, which will also include special colleges and primary schools.
