ANKARA: Referring to the EU without naming it, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said the countries are using Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean as a bait against Ankara.

These views were expressed by the Turkish president at a ceremony held here to launch the new legal year.

Erdogan said that his country had become sick of that shadow play. He added that it was funny on the part of other countries to use Greece as a bait against Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish president said that the time of colonial powers has over. Gradually, the allies and friends of Turkey will increase in this new era, Erdogan noted.

Our activities in the Mediterranean region are a result of our pursuit for justice, he added.
