LAHORE: Misbah-ul-Haq said he hasn’t made the decision of retirement yet but it is under consideration.
Skipper of Test side Misbah talking to media after practice session in Gaddafi Stadium said he is looking forward for upcoming Test series against England in UAE which would be his last as he [Misbah] is considering retirement from this format of cricket as well.
“I have come to a certain stage of my career where I have started considering [retirement],” Misbah, 41. “I was thinking that the upcoming India series would be the point when I will decide what to do. But since I don’t see the India series happening so the next one-and-half months will be important. I am giving second thoughts whether I can extend my career until the 2016 England series.”
He said that England, who won the Ashes against Australia, have an inexperience side just like Pakistan.
“We don’t have such stars in the team when we clean sweep England in Test series but still very confident on the new guys who are performing well in light of Yasir Shah,” the skipper said.
Mishah said both team don’t have same spin attack but new replacements in lights of Moeen Ali for England and Yasir Shah for Pakistan are performing well. They are match winning bowler, he added.
It would be a tough series despite England’s inexperience side, he added.
He desired that he want to give his best performance before retiring from international cricket.
It is pertinent to mention here that, earlier this year Misbah announced his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODI) after the world cup while he had retired from Twenty 20 almost two years ago.
