PESHAWAR: The Embassy of France in Pakistan will open “Campus France” Office at University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar.
This was stated by French Embassy’s Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, Andre de Bussy, during his visit to UET Peshawar on Friday.
Mr. Andre in a reception hosted by the Vice Chancellor, UET Peshawar Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain and faculty said, the Office of the French Embassy at UET Peshawar would serve as a hub to help promote development of cooperation between French and Pakistani scientific organizations, engaged in R&D programs in scientific and technology fields.
This forum will have a Pakistan-France Alumni Network, PFAN to start French language course and jointly conduct French Education Expo’s at UET Peshawar.
The program is intended for young Pakistani graduates particularly, women, and offers them an excellent opportunity to do research in France.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain on the occasion thanked the French envoy for his initiative of opening the Campus France office at UET.
He assured all possible support from the University for successfully running of the affairs of new office.
Dr. Muhammad Younas, Chairman Chemical Engineering Department, who will be the focal person for the news office speaking on the occasion, said this office would help the students of UET not only in learning French but also support students and faculty of UET Peshawar who were willing to go to France for study and research programs.
Later Mr. Andre de Bussy also spoke to the students.
Registrar UET Peshawar Dr. Khizar Azam, Dr. Sadiq and Fariq Ullah were also present on the occasion.
