QUETTA: Sixteen people were killed and 30 others injured in a blast at Quetta’s Hazarganji Sabzi Mandi here on Friday morning.
DIG Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema confirmed at least 16 people had died, while at least 30 others were injured in the blast that occurred at around 7:35am.
He said that eight of the killed were belonged to Hazara community. Buildings located nearby and vehicles were also damaged in the blast, police said. Cheema said that four FC personnel were among the 30 injured.
The explosive device was concealed in a potato box.
Eleven bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital while three transported to Bolan Medical Complex (BMC). The injured were also shifted to BMC.
Security forces have cordoned off the site of the blast.
