KARACHI: Electricity partially restored in a few areas of mega-city, the high-tension 500KV transmission line started working again.
Still, seventy-five percent of the city was still without electricity. According to sources, it was half of the city would receive electricity supply by the time Friday prayers are offered.
Sources also claimed the 500 kV transmission line of WAPDA which supplied electricity to Karachi, was also restored.
As a result of the blast, a major part of the city was suddenly steeped in darkness.
Among the areas affected by the electricity breakdown were Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karsaz, North Karachi, Old City Area, Saddar, Kiamari, Lyari, Federal B. Area, Baldia Town, Clifton and Shireen Jinnah Colony.
