LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the elections of four major parties during the last week, declaring all elected unopposed, were a big fraud in the name of democracy and it should be an eye opener for the masses.
“The people should understand that the parties which did not have democracy in its own ranks, could not be expected to promote democracy in the country”, he said while addressing a large gathering attending the second day of the Ijtema of the JI Punjab chapter, here on Saturday.
He called upon the Election Commission to hold parties elections under its supervision and the parties which did not comply, should be debarred from general elections.
Thousands of JI members and workers from all over the Punjab were attending the three day convention which would continue tomorrow.
Sirajul Haq said that the JI had the lists of the government and opposition leaders who had plundered public money and who had got their huge banks loans and it would bring all of them to accountability. He said that these black sheep would be driven out from the corridors of power and thrown into the Odyala jail.
Sirajul Haq said the leeches of the international establishment had been sucking the blood of the masses for the last seventy years and the people would not tolerate them any longer.
He said “ We are followers of a Revolutionary Prophet and are not those who would sit in the corners of a mosque watching injustice going around”. Instead, we would rise to the occasion and stop all injustice and wrongdoing”, he added.
He said that Pakistan had been established in the name of Islam and nobody could dare make it a secular state. He said that so far, the people had been bringing the dacoits and thieves to power through their vote but it was time that they joined hands for the enforcement of the Nizam e Msutafa. He said if the nation wanted to lead a respectable life, it must know that respect and dignity lay in the enforcement of the Shariah.
He said the people who had been coming to power through vote in the past had been pursuing the agenda of the US and world colonialism. He said that the names of some elements raising slogans against corruption were also in the lists of the Off shore companies’ owners. “These people are not against corruption, they are in fact against the masses”, he remarked.
A coterie of around three hundred and fifty families had been ruling the county so far by changing parties and banners, he said. These people were expert in the art of loot and plunder. These people did not deserve any leniency and the JI on coming into power, would put them behind the bars, he said.
The JI Punjab chief, Mian Maqsood Ahmed, speaking on the occasion, said that the Punjab had always led the national movements. He said the people of the Punjab had great love for Islam and had offered huge sacrifices for the rule of the Quran and the Sunnah, and they would not spare any sacrifices for this sublime cause even in the future.
