Election may be delayed by one to two months: Khawaja Asif

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says that elections will be held in Pakistan in November, but the elections may be delayed by one to two months.

While giving an interview to American TV, Khawaja Asif said that the assembly will be dissolved by the evening of August 9, after which elections must be held within 90 days according to the constitution.

He said that elections will be held in Pakistan in November, however, in certain circumstances, the Election Commission can delay the election for one to two months, but the elections cannot be delayed more than that.

Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah while talking to Geo News program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada said that the decision on the caretaker prime minister’s name will be made by 10 pm on Tuesday.

He said that MQM has given the name of Kamran Tesuri, while the People’s Party will also give one or two names.
